Profile: Marina Guryeva

foto_na_sayt1Marina Guryeva is a top-qualified pathologist and a methodologist of the Municipal Pediatric Restorative Treatment Center for Hearing and Speech Impairment No. 1 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In 1996 she graduated from the Russian State A. Hertsen Pedagogical University, where she completed her course in the Correctional Pedagogics Department, receiving the degree of ‘elementary school teacher for the hearing-impaired, preschool pathologist’. She has been working in the RTC for HSI since 1995, concerning herself with children between the ages of 2 and 18 and conducting work both with the children and their parents.

Has extensive experience with CI-implanted children. Marina’s qualification level has been enhanced during her post-diploma education at the Leongard and Verboton centers. She is also a qualified fitting expert for MED-EL CI sound processors.

Ms. Guryeva is a passionate advocate of inclusive education, around which she has applied herself in the project ‘Preparing general school for inclusion of special needs children. Children must study together!’, and in various seminars and international conferences and rehabilitation events.
