\"\"Mr. Todd Houston is Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Akron in the USA with specific expertise in auditory learning and spoken language with young children with hearing loss. He is currently doing research examining communication outcomes in children with hearing loss, especially those with cochlear implants. His primary area of expertise is in Auditory-Verbal Therapy (LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist) and Auditory-Oral Education with children with hearing loss. He is also interested in the role of early identification of hearing loss (i.e., universal newborn hearing screening) and later communication outcomes.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Todd is conducting research into the roles of fathers in the intervention and\/or habilitation of a child with hearing loss; and telehealth\/telepractice\/teleintervention as a service delivery model for children with hearing loss who are acquiring spoken language.<\/p>\n

In the past, Todd worked at Utah State University and before that, in 2002-2007, was Executive Director and CEO at the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell). In the late 1990s, he directed the University of South Carolina’s Cochlear Implant Program. Today Mr. Houston is a widely published research author and public speaker on topics associated with treatment and rehabilitation of pediatric hearing loss.<\/p>\n
