We regret having to inform you that the forum-discussion scheduled for May 5th on “Working with siblings of children with cochlear implants” is to be postponed due to illness of one of our  speakers. We will set the new date for the session and inform you shortly.

At the same time, we are pleased to share information about the upcoming sessions in the PORA! programme. Before the summer break we will have  three interesting sessions:

• May 26th with  Leona Pejcharová from the Czech Republic, President of the Association of Cochlear Implant Users (SUKI). Topic: “Inclusion for children with hearing impairments aged 6 to 12.”
• June 9th with Tobias Fischer from Vienna, President of ÖCIG and Vicepresident of EURO-CIU who has been wearing his cochlear implant for 36 years. Topic: “Effective counseling for educators and parents of children with cochlear implants: a user’s perspective.”
• June 23rd, a forum-discussion with Leona Pejcharová.

You will soon receive materials from the previous meetings, including recordings, presentations (in Russian, German, and English), brochures, and links. Please stay updated with our newsletters and website.

We would like to invite you to the PORA! webinar on April 21 «Siblings of CI-children».
Systemic work with CI-children also includes work with the entire family. When a child has an a disease or disability, it affects not only the parents but also the siblings. About one year ago a program for sibling work started at CIC Rhein-Main. In this webinar, you will gain insight into current sibling research, the opportunities and challenges faced by a sibling of a child with a disability, as well as a brief introduction to the sibling program at CIC Rhein-Main and its content.

Presenter: Nina Freiburg
Deputy therapeutic director in child therapy, CI therapist, state-certified speech therapist, specialist in sibling support for individuals with disease and/or disability

• 2011 to 2014: Training as a state-certified speech therapist at the Academy for Health Professions at Ulm University Hospital
• 2014 to 2018: Worked as a speech therapist in various speech therapy practices
• Since 2018: CI therapist at CIC Rhein-Main in Friedberg
• Since 2020: Deputy therapeutic director in child therapy
• Since 2023: Specialist in sibling support for individuals with disability and/or disease (ISPA e.V.)

Системная работа с детьми с кохлеарным имплантом включает также работу со всей семьей. Если у ребенка есть заболевание или инвалидность, это влияет не только на родителей, но и на братьев и сестер этого ребенка.
Примерно год назад начала работать программа для сиблингов в реабилитационном центре после КИ – CIC Rhein-Main (Германия).  Вы получите представление о текущих исследованиях по сиблингам, возможностях и проблемах, связанных с наличием брата или сестры с ограниченными возможностями, а также краткую презентацию программы для братьев и сестер в реабилитационном центре после КИ CIC Rhein-Main.

Лектор: Нина Фрайбург
КИ терапевт,  логопед, специалист программы «братья и сестры людей с заболеваниями и/или инвалидностью» из Германии.
С 2011 по 2014 она прошла обучение по логопедии в Академии медицинских профессий при Университетской клинике в Ульме.  С 2014 по 2018 работала логопедом в различных логопедических кабинетах. С 2018 работает КИ-педагогом в CIC Rhein-Main во Фридберге, а с 2020 года является заместителем директора по реабилитации детей. С 2023 года специалист по братьям и сестрам людей с ограниченными возможностями и/или заболеваниями (ISPA e.V.)
